Hi,
this is a pretty remedial question, but I've not run an extra cab before. I've just aquired an extra extension cabinet, and I need a cable to run it from my amp. Someone said the best cable is to just to take some cheap hardware store lamp wire (zip cord?) and solder it to two mono 1/4" plugs. Does this work good? Any other ideas or recommendations? I know I should not use shielded instrument cable, correct?
Thanks!

That should work OK, I would recommend a minimum of 16 gauge though, 14 gauge would be better. Probably doesn't matter much on a short run, but I like to use heavy cable. Just a word of caution, make sure your amp is off when you plug or unplug the speaker cabinet. 1/4" plugs can short out as they are inserted, which is not good for any amp. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
