hi wanted to get some imput from pickers who are using the peterson tuner.
whats the best one to buy for the pedal steel?
how it performs and hold's up?
where can i buy one?

I got one when I started playing and it was very nice mainly because I could focus more on practicing than the tuning dilemma that is confusing.
After someone has been playing a few years live I suppose its not that hard to tune ET or to a ref. note.
As for me I really like Peterson Tuners and use a Jerry Rig.... just Click to tune, click to play even in noisy situation where its hard to chime in notes.
I got mine at Sam Ash..

Gary, i opted for the Peterson Strobo-rack since i use a rack
it's an excellent unit w: the Jeff Newman presets for E9 & C6
makes tuning real easy in the dark & on the fly
a bit pricey (i got mine off ebay at a good price)
the Peterson Strobo Flip seems to be the most popular at the present time
do a search in electronics, there's been quite a few threads on the Peterson tuners |

Gary, I have the previous version of the Strobo Stomp 2. I think they upgraded the input & output jacks and some other stuff. I like mine a bunch. It is a Stomp Box type tuner. One of the advantages over the Strobo Flip is the Strobo Stomp 2 is true bypass. You can program your own presets or use somene elses, like Jeff Newmans. I would say start with some presets and then sit with YOUR own guitar and make sure they are correct for your instrument. Then make any necessary adjustments. Once you have that done, there is no guess work for consistently accurate tuning for each string. Nice large, lighted readout! I can easily see it, even without my cheaters! LOL! For me, it makes it easier to concentrate on my playing, not worrying about my guitar being in tune.

Peterson StroboFlip
I use this one. Small and attaches to leg, easy to use and works perfect.
John and Sue at Peterson, are really great people, are my friends.
My friend Jeff Waller liked mine so much that he just bought one too.

| As a newbie, I have enough to think about besides being in tune. My strobo flip insures that if I'm out of tune, it's me and not the guitar. Very happy with it. |
