Hey Lyle, I sure wish I could be there:-)Didn't Hoopeston use to have a big Mum field on the east side or route 1 just as you entered it or am I confused with another town up around Danville?

Bob, I do not know about the mums but the area used to grow a lot of vegetables including sweet corn as there was a cannery run by Delmonte I believe. They manufactured tin cans there as well as a factory called FMC which built vegetable harvesters such as sweet corn and green beans. And yes, Hoopeston is north of Danville about 30 miles close to the Indiana border. Even though I do not live in the area I used to do phone work at FMC. |

Hey Lyle, I know the area pretty well, south of Watseka IL. which is some of my old stomping grounds.
My Mother used to work at a cannery in Fowler IN. owned by Joan of Arch.
Wish I could be there to join the fun, tell Darrell I said hey. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com
