BEN HARPER SERIES II SIGNATURE MODEL LAP STEEL GUITAR – LIMITED TO ONLY 100 INSTRUMENTS

I purchased this direct from Bill Asher a year ago & it is an amazing guitar....Used only in studio couple times....Custom Cedar Creek hard shell case....mint condition with Certificate of Authenticity.. Serial # 324 # 62 0f 100......Only 10 left... $2800 plus shipping http://www.asherguitars.com/index.html

The Ben Harper Series II Signature model is considered to be the ultimate modern-day lap steel guitar and has drawn the same, if not more impressive accolades than the first Asher Ben Harper Limited Edition Series. With a new spin on sound, style, components and tone, players from around the world are raving about its features.

"Billy and I had been working on getting that guitar together for the last five or six years and he really nailed it with this one,” says Ben Harper in an Artisan News interview. “I'm as excited about having that guitar in the world as much as my music really. It's that amazing of an electric (guitar). That electric lap steel is the electric equivalent of how I feel about the Weissenborns."

Asher and Harper designed the lap steel drawing on inspiration from the classic '59 Gibson Les Paul. The Harper Series II Limited Edition features a flame maple top with cherry sunburst finish in nitro cellulose lacquer, a pair of Seymour Duncan Custom Shop '59-Style Humbuckers, T.O.M. bridge and tail-piece by Tone Pros.

Production is limited to only 100 instruments, each bearing signature logos of both Ben Harper and Bill Asher. The model also comes with a special signed limited edition certificate of authenticity.

hi...im a newbie to this forum, trying to find a nice xmas present for my boyfriend. this would be a dream...and i am definitely toying with the idea of purchasing this, but seeing as he is a beginner to the lap steel, is there something you recommend? what do you all think of the asher electro hawaiian? less money, and certainly not as pretty, but if its his first, trying to not break the bank? any thoughts would be appreciated.
cheers!

When I decided to relearn the steel guitar about a year ago I started with a Asher Hawaiian Junior. It is a great 6 string steel to start with. After a few months I went to an 8 string console and sold the Asher. For my money I would get him the Hawaiian Junior for $600-$700 and see how he likes playing before spending a lot of money on an expensive steel
