If you check the thread that Patricia started on the wall chart for chords you'll find at least 100 people who have requested the chart that Patricia put together. I can't account for the veracity of the chart, but to send 100 emails out with attachments indicates a good heart and an outstanding interest in the instrument. Thanks Patricia for a job well done.

Thanks for posting this Fred.
Certainly well deserved kudos.
Did You notice that many players who requested the charts were not beginners.?
Patricia has certainly arrived on the Forum in the best possible way.
Thanks Patricia

Patricia's contribution to all of us wishing to better understand our instrument's chordal and melodic structure and potential is seminal. Grateful thanks and best wishes to her for a long and rewarding time behind her steel! _________________ The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being. |

Thanks again Patricia. I think you could probably get nominated to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame with the current level of adulation. |

Fred et. al.,
It has come to my attention that not everyone is so pleased that I have offered to share this information so freely. I just wanted to stop by again, and say thank you so much for taking the time to share your praise. It really has not gone unnoticed and is genuinely, genuinely appreciated.
I have posted to the E9th Thread regarding my newfound knowledge of the discontented, should you wish to follow up.
May the New Year bring you health & happiness!
Sincerely,
Patricia |

Patricia, there are always people like that. They get offended if you say "Good Morning" and no matter what you say or do, it's wrong.
Forget about them. They are not worth worrying about. You did a very good thing that helped a lot of people. The heck with the nay sayers. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Patricia,
Just received this excellent work of yours.......
It is a really nice, sort of "Rosetta Stone" for the E9th neck.
Like the Rosetta Stone, I suggest in your honour, we refer to it forever more as the "Warnock Chart"...
Merry Christmas....TX

Hi, Everyone...last weekend I attended the SWSGA Phoenix show. I had a great time, especially having the opportunity to meet a few of my new forum friends. Thank you, Ed, for taking the time to say hello and introduce me to all the amazing work you have done. Wayne, keep in touch. Bobby Bowman, it was truly a pleasure.
Jerry - It was great to meet you. Thank you so much for sharing a few tips about maintaining my guitar. I will be calling you soon!
Del, Dixie, Mike & Kendal - can't wait until the Dallas show in March! See you all then. |

Patricia,
I was going to email you directly today to thank you again for the awesome chart, but saw this thread and figured I'd just throw my 2 cents in here.
Your chart is the best instructional tool in my growing pile of learning resources. I'm really surprised at how much its helped me in just a few days of studying it and using it during practice.
The clouds are parting and the angels are singing...maybe someday I can make this steel sing too...much more likely with such a great learning tool! I can't wait to see the new stuff that Mickey mentions.
Thank you again,
Ross Shafer |
