Which of these two would be best for delay? Has one got any advantages over the other? I know the RV-3 has reverb, but don't think you can use but one at a time.

I believe the RV3 is reverb only, and the DD3 is delay/echo only. As far as I know you should be able to use both at once. You just run your guitar into the input on one of them, then out of output of it to the input of the other pedal, then out to the amp input. I don't think in this case it will make a huge difference of which is first or second, but you could try swappign them around to see which you like better. Hopefully one of the others on the forum can comment on that with a little more guidance. I am making an assumption that your ampp does not have reverb internally, or else you have it turned off. If your amp already has reverb then you would only need to use the DD3 to add a slight amount of slapback echo. They make real short cables (about 6 inches long) just for jumping between two pedals like this, but longer cable are ok temporarily.

The RV-3 is a Delay/Reverb pedal & you can use both together. The Boss RV-5 is Reverb only. & Boss DD3 is Delay only (No Echo) Their is a Line 6 Echo Park that is a Delay Pedal & has Echo & Delay, analog delay & Digital delay. Great little pedal you might do research on. Those RV-3 pedals are getting old & not sure if Boss repairs them. If you have been using
Lexicon MPX 100 for reverb, you may not be happy with the the RV3., as least I wasn't.
Good luck.

Sorry I was not quite correct with my comments on what each pedal does.

Thanks to Autry for setting me straight. I was basing my comments on how my RV-5 and DD-7 pedal work.

Thanks guys for your help. I use to use a Lexicon 110, and I agree you can't beat the reverbs on those units. But, instead of rack units, I wanted to try pedals for a change.
