Stocking stuffer ALERT!
Stephan Jones (bass) and Bryan Kessler (guitar) are about to release their new CD consisting of WW2/post era Hawaiian standards and originals with a distinct jazzy flavor. Jeff should be a perfect fit for this style. Others backing present a stellar line-up of local talents. |

Sounds good to me! I don't know what the purists think, but I love when traditional Hawaiian, Jazz and Pop styles converge.
Looking forward to hearing it.... _________________ If it’s on the ground it can’t fall down. |

...back in the pre-Hawaiian music renaissance (which occurred in about 1970), it was frowned upon to spice up the music, but it had been happening for many many decades by then and we all are arguably better off for it. The swing era in America struck gold when it hit Hawaiian shores and some of the best music (period) was the result. This is what the topic CD will be based on, for the most part anyway (I'm assuming...), and I'm sure it'll be a winner. The purists are all pretty much long gone, and the music is to be enjoyed, especially when it includes good Hawaiian steel guitar. |

Google the title - kessler - au hoy, and you'll find purchasing info from various venders.
There is a review in the Honolulu Advertiser today, but no link for it yet. |
