I noticed that bob closed down the "Age Thread"
This is what you quoted..
Ric,
After years of studying THE instrument of choice, I can't imagine calling it quits at any point in time. It speaks to me in a language that was developed after years of practice. Wherever I go, IT goes.
Well, you know, I'm still playin' most weekends around here and diggin' every bit of it. That road life was a tough one. It cost me 3 marriages.
I just burned out back in 93, got off the road and got me a real job...
But just to let you know something, I'll never give up my music.
Kinda cool being a musician, isn't it??
I had a good Saturday Night....
Regards, Ric..
And notice my spelling, Hee Hee...
Hope you had a good "Thanksgiving" _________________ MSA D12 Vintage XL 8+5

Some of us are musicians because we have to be.
I wouldn't be complete without my musical pursuits.
Out of necessity, I have an unrelated day job. |

Yep.. I know what you're saying Joey. It's my release and I'm glad that the girl I'm tangled with now appreciates it.. Like I said in another post somewhere, I had a good Saturday night and the crowd was into it.
I have to say this, though. She wonders why I have to practice so much. She told me this morning after I got off work at the Super 8, why don't you just turn that thing off and go to bed for awhile... _________________ MSA D12 Vintage XL 8+5

Ric,
good luck getting hankey to reply to you. He only posts to his own topics, sometimes replying to himself (kind of like the guy on the street who talks to himself). I think he is just too self absorbed to be bothered with any other posts or topics, after all, when you are in hankeyland, little else matters.
I too play cause I love to play. Every Thursday night I do a gig 10 minutes from home where we play lots of Ray Price shuffles and lots of 50s, 60s, and 70s country. The bass player and the lead singer both tend to get sloppy from drinking too much, but I just can't resist getting to play all that old stuff.
Best to you!

Sounds like me.
A year and a half ago I left the rat race and moved to a smaller community. I gave up job security and a crappy music scene. Now I have three part time jobs. One of them is music, and it's almost as lucrative as the other two.
Go figure. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
