We are in the process of making an instructional video dealing with C6-type chord voicings on the standard E9 tuning. This is a preview we put on youtube...hope you all like it! Smile jc

Ha! Thanks Greg. The DVD is about 30 -40 mins. long and covers different chord grips (things other than the normal triad grips, a lot of 5,6 and 9 string stuff), as well as some ideas for the 6/2/5/1 turnaround that is commonly used in jazzy-type material. I talk about 6th chords, the 6/9 chord, maj 7ths, maj 9ths, substitutions and the b9 dominant chords and how to find them and use them. I also cover some ideas for "Nightlife" intro. on E9. Thanks for your interest.

Bravo Jody!! Nice work and very nice playing. It is players like yourself that will help knock down the cliches associated with the e9th c6th paradigm. Kudos to you for the very illustrative and definitive sample on your video!

Hey Jody this is great! Maybe I won't have to practice my c6 after all. Folks I spent 2 days with Jody in a seminar a couple of months back and my head is still spinning! He gave me a lifetime of work to do in those 2 days! He is a fine teacher and this has to be good. Jody, save me one and let me know when they are ready.

Thank you Jim...hope you are doing well. Maybe I will see you in Dallas?

I've had a couple of questions about the pulls on my guitar that I used in the video. I did the entire song using only the A & B pedals and the knees that raise and lower the E's. It can all be done on a 2-pedal 2-lever guitar. The key is string groups...I use different grips than just the standard 3 string grips we all know and love.

Jody, I can't wait for the CD. Looks like a few of the things you covered in our class in Rolla, Mo. in a condensed version. This should give these guys a taste of your teaching technique's minus the jokes and road stories unless you threw a couple in. I can't wait to order mine. If you lived close to Branson I would be one of your most faithful students and I'm sure there would be an apple or cider on your steel every week from me. Thanks for all that you do for us steelers.

Your pal

The interest in this little project has been overwhelming! I promise I will get all the orders out just as soon as I can, and thanks to all you guys who have responded. Smile jc

Good Deal, Tommy - and thank you.

The master is on it's way to me now, after which I will send it to California for duplication. They told me it would be a 7-day turnaround to get them duplicated, then they will ship them to me; so I'm thinking it will be about 2 weeks before those of you who have ordered a DVD will receive it. I'm on top of it and will get them out just as soon as I can.

Thanks again to all who have ordered the DVD. jc
