Hey Ken, are these amps point-to-point wired or printed circuit board?

PC board, as with all reissue amp. A few that are hand wired are in the the $2,000 to 3,000 dollar range such as the Tweed 57 Twin and the new Tweed Deluxe.

Ken, how do these amps sound for Strat's and Tele's or do you have any experience with playing guitars thru them? I've never played thru a 15" speaker so I'm actually not even familiar with playing thru one in any amp I'm assuming there will be more bottom end that I possibly might have to tone down some but that's just a guess.

Anyone else that has any info is more than welcome to respond too.

Bob

I have this amp and it sounds amazing with guitar or steel......it's my favorite amp and a price under $800 is a major bargain.

I far prefer a Twin with a 15" speaker over a 2-12". I have had both and I would go with a 15". Bob I am a Tele player more than a steel player. Steel is a second instrument and I rarely play.

It will be on eBay for 925.00 shipped tomorrow morning.

I am offering this at a great price but will not hold out any longer at that price.

Thanks, Ken and Joe, sorry I missed this one but I really wanted an older hand wired twin but it might be a while b4 I can afford it (if ever) but they say anything good is worth the wait Smile

A pal of mine is going to loan me an older twin with 2 12's and let me check it out so at least I'll have a little experience with the older twins. Thanks again!

Big Bob

as with all valve amps the quality of the valves is essential. with older amps the caps require attention too. i have two fender 15" combos - a 70's vibrosonic silverface and a 60's blackface twin. the amp section is pretty much the same on all fenders from one particular era. only the speakers change. i must say i prefer the 15" over 4 x 10 or 2 x 12" anytime. JBL's sound great and the Weber replacements are very good too. with 15" you get smoother sound with big round bottom end. a matter of taste of course and this is only my opinion. i had the silverface recapped with fresh quality valves and the difference in sound quality is remarkable. absolutely no noise, massive headroom and 3D sound only a valve amp can deliver. saying valve amps are noisy is a cliche. they're not if properly set up. the blackface sounds nothing like the serviced silverface. it's dull and lifeless with excessive noise. it's worn out and needs servicing. once done it'll sound super. 15" fenders sound great with steels and fantastic on electric guitar. you can't go wrong with valve fenders!
