I just received a Vegas 400 through a deal on Ebay. It is an incredible amp.

I had forgotton how much I truly love the sound of 15". I used to have an Artist w/a 15" BW, which I loved and played through it until it finally died after 20+ years of performance.

This vegas has a terrific EQ section on BOTH
CHANNELS, has awesome tone. I have so much yet to discover!!

I just wanted to share my excitement....I am so glad to have another Peavey SS amp w/a 15". It will be perfect for my jazz guitar, POD amp modeling, and STEEL Guitar playing...even my SY - 77 Yamaha keyboard the 210 watts are just GREAT. Depth, Tone and Power. AND Versatility

Thanks Peavey for a great amp in the Vegas 400. I am glad I got a great one.. almost brand new.

I worked out a great trade for my Classic 50 410 with the Vegas owner. We both got a great deal. It too is a great amp, but not what I needed any more for the direction I am going.

Bill, I agree 100% with you, I did the mod to my vegas and finally played it out and was more pleased than I thought I would be, have an old push pull with a fat single coil pickup and the two were made for each other, hey just wondering what did you pay, I got my vegas years ago for $250, it was cosmetically beat up and Jerry Fessenden traded me even for a flawless vegas (my mom had just died and he wanted to do something for me, great guy), the amp is going strong and not all that heavy, Peavey is still the bang for the buck champion.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I agree that the Vegas is a very versatile amplifier. By the way, we still have a vinyl cover that will fit it, if you are interested. Contact me by e-mail if interested.

Thanks.

Jim,

This amp is an example of perfect preservation. It is flawless. I traded a Peavey Classic 50 410 for it and the owner of the amp gave me $135. So if My Classic amp had actually sold for about $425-450 I 2would have paid around $300 for the amp. This one came with a cover, casters, and Fender lean back legs.

I am so glad I made the trade. This amp fits my needs exactly. I am inspired to play again.

Buddy Emmons certainly thought so. I recall him playing through primarily that amp for 20 years or so. He always sounded great through them, but he sounds great through anything.

I've played through two or three -- never owned one -- but was always impressed with the sound -- very much like a Session 400 to my ears.

Thanks! I like it because it is a very versatile, sturdy, and toneful. Also if I put my POD 2.2 in front of it for my regular guitar, it provides a great environment for accurately reproducting the results of the amp modeling. So I get the best of all worlds. I am still using it not only as a primary amp for my instruments and center-fill amp, but as a feed to the PA. This makes for a very full sound.

I have already used it playing out and it was great. Once again, the 15" BW and 200 watts is a winner.

I love mine. The only thing I've done to it was replace the original 1502-4 Black Widow with a 1501-4 and it smoothed the midrange and high end up. Its a clean wide toned amp.
When I get back to working I'm going to find me another one or two.

"Somebody" told me that there is a brand new(yes, that's what they said!) Vegas 400 at Wiregrass Music in Enterprise, Alabama. If you want to call and inquire, their number is (334)347-9777. Good Luck.

I still have one. Great amp just heavy to carry around. My back makes me use a 112.
