Doug B.,

Thank you for posting the scheduled players at this time. It's amazing how fast time slips away, and the MASSBASH will be coming up fast on the calendar. The DOOLEY AUSTIN BAND will be on stage to offer their support as they have done for many years. The band can get the job done. They are nothing short of excellent. I follow them here in the Berkshires to catch their great entertainment. The excitement is building as I recall vividly how the steel guitarists put so much energy in their deliveries in past shows. The list of confirmed players, is an assurance to those who plan to attend, that it will be a show to remember.

Doug B.,

I checked in with the Berkshire Blues Cafe', and it is roomier since the management removed that walled in enclosure near the sun porch. It's a perfect setting for the 21st MASSBASH.

Myron, if you can't find any campsites closer in, I've got six acres in southern NH where I keep a large trailer. Could easily accommodate your 40 footer, as a backup. It's probably more than an hour's drive from Lee, Mass., tho.

Myron,

You might want to check with the Lone Oak Campground in E. Canaan CT. It's about 20 miles south of Lee (about 30 to 40 minutes).

There might be something in the Becket MA area too, I'm not sure.

Be sure to say hi at the show! I know that you have attended the past couple of years, but I don't remember meeting you at any of the Bashes. ...or could it be my memory is going?

OOOOOPS Doug is starting to get those senior moments already at his young age. HA Hi Doug Don't know if I will be at the Bash depends on if we move back to R.I. before the Mass bash. But if we move to Tenn. then we won't make it this year.

Myron ,I would advise you to use your SUV to get to the show as parking that Prevost bus of yours would take up a big portion of the needed parking, especially if your towing the trailer..Stop by before you head up North i'll draw you a map it's right off the "Pike". Joe

I'm very pleased that Jeff DeMaio will be playing at the Bash this year. Jeff is a great player and he's been performing at the PSGA show in CT for many years. He also helps to organize that show. Much thanks to Jeff, Jim, Dana, and all the other players who travel a long way to play at the MASS BASH.

I'm pretty sure Jeff will be bringing his guitar player, Scott Tyler... I'm not sure about the whole band.

Doug,

GREAT NEWS!! Confirmation has been established. BUZZ EVANS will be one of the featured steel guitarists this year, at the MASSBASH. His last visit here in 1998, when the MASSBASH was held in Lenox, Ma., was a great opportunity for attendees to see and hear his superb musical renditions.
It will be a rare performance by BUZZ EVANS playing on the east coast, on July 20, at Berkshire Blues Cafe', in Lee, Ma. on route 102. At his last visit, he commented on the great players from this area. Our confirmations from the east are skilled entertainers, who we know will deliver a variety of styles for everyone's enjoyment.

Bill: What a great addition, no what a super addition. Buzz has been wowing them in Vegas with his one man show for some time. Two years ago in St. Louis he was a super hit at Scottys shindig. Your not only getting a great player, musician and person, your also getting a super show.Maybe you can talk him into some lead guitar also.

Myron L.

I appreciate all that you've written in your replies. Every time I read your messages, it becomes obvious to me, that your reports of steel guitar activities, are very enlightening, and a big plus on this forum. I look forward to reading more about your itineracy, and the Nashville connection, where you will be picking up a steel guitar. Thanks for planning to attend the "MASSBASH".

Dana F.,

Your presence at the "Bash" is very welcome, and you will represent one of the cornerstones of steel guitar achievement, at the 21st Annual Massachusetts Steel Guitar "Bash". I'm still tumbling from your performance in Chicopee, Ma. last year. Congratulations for developing such a great sound!

Bill H.
