I'm putting a BR-4 back together and need a BR style nut. BR-4-6-9. I'd like to find an original Gibson part if possible.
Thanks!

Richard,
When I saw the email notification that there was a reply post to this thread I got excited! But......unfortunately the nut on ebay is for I believe an EH style guitar. I do really appreciate your post however. I had seen that one already and do "gibson steel" and "gibson nut" ebay searchs every day . This is what the critter looks like:
It is realitively long, thin (0.193")and is tapered on the backside at the top. I think I'm going to get a chunk of stainless and carve away everything that doesn't look like a Gibson BR nut!

I have a bunch of Gibson lap steels. I didn't look too closely at the size, only the style. Size does matter. |
