a friend of mine has a pro 1 that has the following numbers,and need to know the year mfg....12568....1-a2....any help would really appreciated....thanks jack

Jack, Sho-bud serial numbers are useless for dating a gtr.
Post a bunch of pics and we can narrow it down.

Skip's right. The serials have little meaning. Under carrage pics as well as top of guitar will help. Smile

My Pro 1 has a paper tag glued to the inside with the serial number and model number. It is on the back apron near the changer. It is dated 5-22-81 and is signed by Duane Mars. I do not know if all those doing quality control signed and dated the guitars. Obviously Mr. Mars did.
