Keith....you'll have a great time. Instead of Rick Trevino , you'll more than likely see Justin Trevino. Justin is one heck of a talent and a fabulous singer in his own right. He's just one of three fantastic singers , all hispanic , the other two being Billy Mata and Bobby Flores . These guys live in the last remaining bastion of Country Music venues and that area is teeming with traditional country bands and singers.Enjoy

I will have the good fortune to see Darrell McCall with Leona Williams on Dec 6 here in Mission, it's a private Christmas party. He was here last year as well, I really enjoyed it, he puts on a great show and a hell of a nice guy. Ron Williams was with him last year, a fine singer.

I've always loved the steel though I never played it, and at this Christmas party the last few years I've had to pleasure of seeing great steelers such as Herb Steiner, Dickey Overby, Don Soursby and Jody Cameron, who all were playing with Johnny Bush, as well as all the other fine musicians in the band. 3 years ago after meeting Jody at this party, I took the plunge and bought a steel.

Don't know yet who is coming to play steel, last year Dickey was set to play but had to cancel, and sorry to say I can't remember the steeler's name who replaced him. He said he mostly played guitar, but he sure did a great job on steel. He was from either George West or Three Rivers. He was playing a red lacquer MSA, funny thing was that we both had bought our steels from Texas trader Randy Gilliam. Smile

Keith, you're welcome to come, though it will probably be a long ways from where you'll be, we're 300 miles south of Austin. If you can make Edna, do it, you will really enjoy the music.

Darrell will most likely have the awesome Randy Reinhard on steel guitar. You won't be disappointed.

Anyone else hear Darrell's

"Christmas in Cell Block Number 9" written by Steve Spurgeon who wrote Carmen recorded by Gene Watson

Some other great songs of Darrell "I'll break out again tonight" and "Hide and go Cheat"

Darrell's "Dreams of a Dreamer" was climbing toward number one in the charts, then Elvis died and killed it. Darrell says he made enough money off that song to take the wheels off his house.
