I don't know its year of manufacture, but perhaps the logo-style provides a clue. Four pedals and five 'knees', and finished in the best-sounding colour of all....

It's currently set up 'Day', but I think these guitars are easily switched. I love its tone, but I've seen a gorgeous Olson SJ acoustic guitar that I have to have, and something has to go!!!

$1800 plus shipping.

(now let's see if I can download a picture or two...)

I've had some enquiries, and a couple of questions have been asked:

It has a gray ozite one-piece case (standard with these guitars, I believe), and it is here in Naples, Florida at my home. I'm rarely in the UK these days.

This is a great guitar at an equally great price!

I owned this one before Roger and liked it a lot. It plays easily and always did a great job for me both on stage and in the studio.

I don't recall the exact age either, I'm afraid. When I bought it, though, it went from the seller directly to Jerry Fessenden who added a floor pedal and knee lever, cleaned it up, and went through the whole guitar. So, not too long ago, it was made as new. (And from Roger's pics, I'd assume it's certainly no worse for wear since he's had it.)

Someone's gonna get a terrific guitar at a great price.

Roger, is that a gorgeous red Gibson 355 I see in the background? I played one like that for many years, until it turned into a blue lacquer Mullen. ...Looks like that Fessy should sell quick with 4 & 5. Cool

Yes, Stan. I'd wanted one since I was a teenager (I just loved the look of them after seeing that Gibson picture of Tony Mottola playing his in their catalogue) but was never able to find the money (300 Pounds back in England in 1960!)

Two years ago Gibson reintroduced them on a limited run basis and I got in line - it's a wonderful instrument and, contrary to some reports I see regarding new Gibsons, very well made.

Giving this a bump to the top. I guess with the economic climate and an imminent election these are unsettled times, and probably not the best moment to sell anything even slightly frivolous.

No rush here, guys - I think I've missed that Olson (they're clearly NOT frivolous items!) - but the steel will remain 'for sale' so please keep it in mind....

Best wishes from the Ugly Picker... Laughing
