I suppose that's better than the Mozart Requiem

WOW, they were still pounding on cave walls stone clubs when I was born.

In truth however: August 1940; Canada was into the second year of WWII: Dad was called to service 2 months before I was born. We listened to an old Victrola Radio that was powered by a dry D cell battery. Hitler's and Churchill's rantings were common voices to be heard on the radio.

Lorne Green ( Bonanza) was called the voice of doom on the CBC national radio

Music;

In the Mood: Glenn Miller
Frenesi: Artie Shaw
"A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" Glenn Miller
"Fools Rush In" - Glenn Miller
"Blueberry Hill" - Gene Autry

For those who may remember the early forties, sheet music outsold records ten to one.

I had to go back literally 25 years on my birthday to find a song I even recognized...and then it wasn't willing knowledge: "Flashdance"... Proving that the connection between #1 songs and birthdates is even less meaningful than tarot cards or phrenology, my Destiny seems to have been set by Percy Faith (didn't he make a comeback as Percy Faith No More?) and "Theme from Moulin Rouge" which I'm not sure I've ever heard or heard of. Haven't really seen the movie all the way through, either. The headline of the day ("Goldbergs Executed For Treason") is a much more interesting milestone of my landing on this planet.

"Near You," by Francis Craig, although my favorite version is by Tex Williams and the Western Caravan, with Joaquin, natch! Wink

Oh yeah, November 1 1947.

"There's just one place for me, near you.
It's like heaven to be, near you.
Make my life worthwhile, by telling me that I'll
Spend the rest of my days, near you."

Great song.

Joey,
I did this 3 times to make sure I didn't mess up. I came up with the same song as you...
... "Oh! My Pa-Pa (O Mein Papa)"
Could it be we are the exact same age?
