Very Happy Carp built an SD-10 for this noobie in about three weeks. Black mica 3x4 and I'm a happy boy.  Couldn't wait, so my wife and I packed up our two dogs here in Florida and drove to Ft. Worth to pick it up.  I can't say enough good things about Gary and his guitars.  No one will ever make a mistake getting a RAINS and dealing with Gary.  Before you even look underneath, the quality of the machine work end plates, the legs, the head, tuners, fit and the finish just jump out at you. Love the guitar and the man.  Thanks Carp! I'll be back for my D-10 soon I hope.

I picked mine up in Texas too. Gary is a way cool dude huh? And Brother, can he pick! He even sent me his CD for my Birthday last year, I played it so much it wore a hole right in the middle. Smile

As another noobie I bought my Rains last March at the Steel Guitar Convention just before David Hartley was going to buy it. Sorry about that David....but not toooo much. I have taken a couple of lessons from Gary and he is also a great instructor. He has been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest building those Rains.

As I have said before ....having Gary build me a second Rains psg was a no brainer after I had my first one. The guitar is so well constructed with a tone that simply to die for. Of all the good steels out there today, and there are some good ones, none can beat the tone and playability of this Rains IMHO. I can safely say that it will be the last "brand" of pedal steel that I will buy in my lifetime. YES.....it's that good.

I've had my Rains ever since July 6th '06. I've had absolutely no issues with it. It performs and sounds great. Going to Fort Worth sometime soon and have Gary do all the upgrading that needs to be done. I'm like Ray Walker......I will always have a Rains Guitar built by Gary Carpenter, because it is a "no-brainer". Best guitar on the market (IMHO as well). HAL
