Both the Jackson and the Show Pro are "off shoots" of the Sho-Bud...which one has or is closer to that Sho-Bud sound?

Don't know anything about Jackson guitars but I will say that a Show Pro is one killer steel. The craftsmanship and the ability to have it made to your specs and taste can't be beat.

I have one and the tone is very even with TONS of sustain. Botttom line get a Show Pro.

Jeff, Are all the Sho Pro's made with wooden necks? On an ongoing thread I noticed that the six pictured there were all wooden necks. Where are the Sho Pro's made?

They are all wood necks. Killer vintage sound and craftsmanship. Jeff Surratt studied under Duane Marrs for years.

Thanks Bill and Kevin, I always had great respect for Mr. Duane Marrs..he replaced that horrible rack system on my Sho-Bud with the tunable collar system...made a big improvement...the guy was an ACE.

Pardon my ignorance here, but why not just buy a Sho-Bud?

Hey Erv, you have one great looking steel there...trouble is, unless I'm wrong, they are not being made anymore.

Hey Joe, My understanding is that the Sho Pro is everything that the Sho-Bud was, with major mechanical improvements.. It is L Greens steel of choice.
Also, Sho Bud is OOB.

Brad,
As far as I know, Eddie is still building steels.
However, he is at least a couple of years behind.
I didn't want to wait so I bought this guitar used from Al Brisco in Canada. Very Happy
