Yep, ol' Joe's a STAR now!! And nobody deserves it more. Joe's a great player, and a man I'm proud to call my friend.
Remember what the Saluda show is, and what it represents. Proceeds go to the Shriners' Hospitals, and Saluda has always represented good times, and good clean fellowship. Buddy, Charles, and the rest of the Reece family have always put on one of the classiest shows in the country, and it has been my pleasure and honor to have helped with the show since Buddy's passing. Keep up the prayers for Charles, and may God bless each one of you!
Steve

John Floyd posted a photo of one of the classiest gentlemen it has ever been my pleasure to know, Charles Reece. Charles is a great friend, mentor, steel guitar player, builder, and a huge influence on me personally. What can I say---I love the man. He's in the hospital now, and we pray that he's on the mend.
As for the Convention, it's ALWAYS a blast when Russ
Hicks comes down. A great player, and another good guy. Herby, Joe, the boys in the band (Jerry, Woody, Johnny, Jim, and Wayne), some new playersare coming, to make sure you hear the absolute BEST in music, and have plenty of good, clean fun. Y'all come to Saluda on the 16th---you won't regret it!

Woody Ledford, Johnny Thomas, Wayne Smith and Wayne Stowers

They Play all over the southeast for a lot of different events and are supplemented 4 times a year at Saluda By Jim Hartley, Jerry Reece, Bob Strickland and Steve Gambrell. They Flat wear out Drummers, They Need 3 or 4 To Hang with them in the course of one weekend.

This is worth the price of admission alone, Just This Sooper Staff Band.

Remember the Mom and Pop restaurants and drive-in's of days gone by, before the fast food explosion? ,This is the standard fare at The Southern Steel Guitar Convention.

Some of the best in the world, South Carolina style BBQ sandwiches can be had in addition to the very best Hamburgers in South Carolina and delicious Hot Dogs, Fries, Homemade Cake, Soft Drinks and Coffee are available at very reasonable prices.

The Hamburgers Are Great At Saluda, But One Needs To Sample The BBQ,Hot Dogs and Fries, Because Something Else might Slip up on you as one of your new Favorites. Its a Good Idea To Have A Little or a Lot Of Every Thing Served at Saluda

Guys, one more time---I know that Larry, and Roger, and Chris, and Herby, Joe, and Russ will be playing. Also John McSwain. But if ANYBODY else plans on playing, PLEASE try and get in touch with me. We want this show to be as easy on everybody as we can. We're anticipating a lot of good players, and I want to make sure that everybody gets as much time to play as possible!
Thank you for making this a great show!

Just got word that Chris Castle, 16-year-old phenom, is a definite "GO" for the jam and show. John McSwain, a transplanted Northerner, will also be on the scene. Two more great players to add to our line-up.

Hey John, Stevie has his mind (?) on McDonalds. Probably had a McChicken sandwich for lunch! Looking forward to another great day in Saluda. Gotta get me one of those Saluda McDogs. Chris...bring lots of money, Steve can pack these things away! It's a Saluda rookie tradition to buy him as many as he can eat.

Whats Worse Than Buying Steve Hot Dawgs is Buying Them For Bessie. She Wants Varsity Hot Dawgs. Oh Well

Any more of you guys want to play, PLEASE let me know. We want to work it out so there's as little time as possible between players, and that the players don't get their sets cut short, if we can.
John SWAIN, again, please accept my apology. And you're an Emmons guy, too, right???
