Hello
Got an old 45 record in the mail today, with a steeler named John Dieckman playing "Steel Mill",other side of the record were singer Roger Hill, maybe the artist he played with.I have never heard of this man/name.There are no indications on the label where the artists come from.I am curious to find out if anybody out there can shed some light on this steeler.
Best from Egil.

Hi Egil
John Dieckman lives right here in Buffalo New York. He is very well known For his outstanding musical ability. John is also known as blues artist "Mudbone Johnny", and writes all his own material and is playing slide Guitar on these projects. You may find something on him if you do a search for Sessions Recording Studio, Buffalo New York. John has produced many cds under this label for various artists. Hope this helps. Mark

P.S. Every now and then I see a listing in our local paper that Roger Hill is playing somewhere as a solo artist.

John owns the red JCH that Russ Hicks played on Hee Haw. I just played acoustic and sang Saturday with Roger Hills brother in law. Both have paid their dues in the country music book and have the scars to prove it. Two real traditional country music players. Roger is a Buck Owens encyclopedia.

Hey 'Eagle'.....How's thangs across the pond....the player you're referring to is my good friend 'Gabe' Dieckman, so named by me and some more of his buddies because of his resemblence to Gabe Cotter, or is it Kotter, of the TV Show 'Welcome Back'....John (Gabe) is about 6ft 5in and just a heck of a good guy, just like his, our, friend Fred Amendola from the same neck of the woods. I wish I saw more of both of them....and you too for that matter, and 'Mister' Dag.
Take care and God Bless,
rh

Hi Mark & Kevin.
Thanks alot for your answer, seems like there are always someone that know something,so thanks alot for your help!

Russ!
So nice to hear from you!It was very kind of you to play that "Fool such as I" in St.Louis with me and Dag.The records of you and Jimmie are,as I told you, much the reason me and Dag do some of this twinsteel thing, and having fun doing it.So to have our big inspirator playing with us was a highlight!
Today I`m feeling fine, but I was rushed into hospital friday one week ago and had to take an operation in my stomach.I am back on my feet, and everything is so far-so good, and hope it stays that way,but it keeps me out of work for a few weeks.
My CD project goes forward, but slowly.
Dag is playing alot, and I will send your cheers over to him,So all in all,we are all fine, and hope the same for you.
I`ll be in touch-Love ya!
Egil
