Hey David, I don't have a wife OF a partner.. Laughing

OK, OK, I know you're still hung over from the 13th, (your 50th) so I'll let that one slide.

Answer is yes! "On the fist one." But then again, she felt I was in love with everything but her. Humm,, could she have been right?

However, #2, I set straight from the beginning. But I just asked her that question. She's honest! She said, "sometimes it did seem that way." Very Happy

But hey! This one's been a great one, we'll have been married 34 years this coming April. "She's never once caught me in bed with my Steel.." Cool Cool Cool

Happy Belated Birthday!
May you have many, many more my friend,

Don

David, I've been a confirmed bachelor for four years now. Married and divorced three times and that was enough. I don't drink very much and I don't run around with wild women and I even get to make my own dish washing aprons! Laughing "LIFE" is great without someone griping at you all the time. So I guess my answer is "yes", I do love my steel more than my exes! Devil

Very Happy Whoa! Rolling Eyes

Dave : Are you telling us that you traded your wife for a Jack Russell? Did you have to give anything to boot?
My better half has informed me many times that if I bought one more guitar, she was going to run off with a rich man. I informed her that if she finds a RICH MAN, I'll save her the trouble and run away with the rich man myself. Me and all my GUITARS. A belated happy Birthday, Dave..Bernie Laughing Whoa! Very Happy Smile

My wife claims that, early in our relationship, I forewarned her that hers would be my third favorite neck... Yikes! Did I say that?? Whoa! Whoa!

I've turned down several dates just because I don't want to be distracted from my steel. I don't see a problem with that. Rolling Eyes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVE. Very Happy

in all honesty, my partner is my strongest supporter of my playing and there is no competition between my love for her and the steel...as it should be.

About this marriage stuff..........

#1 was always embarassed that I was playing with THE TOP BAND in the region, appearing with OPRY STARS, was on radio and television and a couple of locally produced records.

#2 Tho't my playing was great but after meeting #1, headed back to Seattle, never again to return to PDX.

#3 Was a Schitzophrenic (sp??) but great to look at!

#4 Loved country music, the bars where I played and of course, the booze would start when I did and end when the band did. The tab often equalled the pay.

#5 Loved the music but couldn't always remember who she came to the dance with.

#6 The EVIL PRINCESS of DARKNESS......nearly wrecked my van, banged up my Emmons and tried to kill me one night after playing. Tried to get me arrested for domestic abuse but they could smell the booze on her breath so she spent the night in jail instead.

#7 Loves all kinds of music, my playing, my guitars and was a key factor in my Rickenbacher collection and subsequent amp collection capped-off by my VOLU-TONE amp and refurbishment. Great lady!

She promotes steel guitar every chance she can get.

My wife is my number one fan and really supports my steel playing. Doesn't always understand when I need or want a new toy but tries.

She ask me one day if she made make a choice between her or music what would it be. I replied "never make me make that choice." She never has.

Ah - I shudder at the thought of speaking for my wife, who grew up around country music in Nashville in its golden era. But with that said - there are times when I sense that she simply makes allowances for my behavior under the belief that pedal steel players are certifiably insane. Mr. Green

Must be able to clean house. 3.Must be able to do laundry. 4. And last but not least...must own pedal steel guitar. P. S. Please send picture of pedal steel guitar. Laughing
