I hope this is in the right spot, but I am curious what video equipment people are using to film Utube video.
I am especially concerned about the audio portion picking up decent sound reproduction. Will most digital camcorders work?
Thanks, Jim |

James,
Methods vary from one player to another, some use a good mic, maybe stereo, plugged into whatever camcorder they have and are quite happy with that, maybe they will post and tell you.
What I use.
I have Adobe Audition on computer, backing tracks loaded in there and Steel Guitar direct inject through a USB Interface to the computer, that way you don't need a soundproof room, If you still have a wife, she can do her housework and the kids can bang doors and flush toilets without killing your recording, or you killing them,
For the actual video part, I use my Digital Camera which has video capability (most have this).
I load the sound file and video into Windows Movie Maker, where I strip out the sound from my Digital Camera and replace it with the Adobe Audition Mix.
All you have to do is match the Video to the sound file for timing and the program will do the rest for you, opening and closing titles, fade in out etc.

You Tube is of course Mono sound, you can go to Myspace to hear things in Stereo.
