I am posting this here because I think it is an appropriate question about steel players (ME) and my music. I bought a J200 centenial a few years ago when they came out, 100 made, I paid £3,200, sold it when I needed cash (like you do), I have been offered it back for £1500. I would love this back on my backing tracks etc.. Do you think I should get it? I have first refusal as I requested this when I sold it..
Answers quick please, I know I want it, but is the price right and will it make my tracks any better?
It would look good in videos with BIG John playing it?
What do you reckon. ??

Hi David,
You need to jump on this J-200! One can never have too many musical works of art in his studio. At 1,500.00 you won't loose any money if you have to hock it again. As far as making your session tapes sound better, that would be hard to do. I wish I could get half the production quality that you do.
WARNING- those who ask a mad man for advice...................................
Thank you for your beautiful music and sharing your skills,
Mike |

David,
I'm not sure of the actual number of musicians who enjoy and go to your You Tube renditions. If everyone who listens to your music regularly, would send just a dollar today, we would be assured that you could close the deal. "United we stand, individually we fall". A sort of steel guitar "corporation" that will move quickly to preserve a continuous interest in best efforts and camaraderie, may be a valuable addition to "social gatherings" of the past. |

If you don't have to sell any gear to get it, buy it back. |

David,
If I had my say, it would be just a matter of you selecting the equipment of your choosing! No charge! Same as Melba's "No Charge" song. Your contributions remind me of her song.. |

David,
If you can afford it, BUY IT! I had wanted a really good acoustic guitar all my life. When I turned 50 years old, I thought "if I wait until I really have a lot of extra cash to buy one, I may be too old to enjoy it." So I went to Albany, looked at a lot of guitars and bought a Gibson EC20 starburst. It is a jumbo body, cutaway, has a built in pickup, and stars inlaid in the neck, bridge and head stock. I still own it, and play it, and enjoy it. I have never been sorry I bought it...
Now, post us another nice tune on you tube, and maybe one with big John playing your Gibson while you play the steel.

All I know is I have one, and the only guitar I've tried since I bought it that even comes close in tone and feel is a top-end Taylor costing twice as much. And absolutely nothing looks cooler than a J200. And the price seems more than fair, go for it! |

I have bought it.
Show you pictures later..
Its in really good condition still after 14 years.
I will have to get the lower frets repaired or replaced as they are worn in the usual places.
It looks great.
The handle is broken on the original gibson case. Anyone work for gibson over there can get a replacement brown handle ??
