Thanks for all the nice comments,
James, look me up under " derfdv " on youtube.
Bent, the sound on the Sierra is very clear, but at the end of the night I found that the pickup was not seated correctly , as you know the pickup can be removed by sliding it out, I had removed it to show the fiddle player and did not replaced it all the way in making the sound a little thin.
The fiddle player name is Julie Clements. If you look up Backporchpicker on you tube you will find a lot more of her.
At this jam we are not told the name of the song before we play it , the singer just says "G chord walking bass" and off we go..keep us on our toes.. thanks John |

Nice one John. She is much better looking than our fiddle player and plays in tune (ouch!).
You must have been with Robbo for quite a few years now.

Ken, I have been working with Robbo on and off since 1978, as I have only came back from Spain for a few months I have not played with him for about 10 years,
Julie Clements is quite a player , there are a lot of her playing up on youtube.
As for my playing it is getting harder , I suffer from a lot of pain from my neck down both my arms with loss of feeling in my left hand..
I still love doing the jam session every week..

Something I have never been able to figure out. When you guys talk, its with the english accent(for lack of a better term) But then as soon as you sing, no accent?

Brian, it's very hard to explain why us english talk with british accent and sing with an USA accent, maybe it's because we listen to country music from the states,
as country music is more lightly to come from the USA then we pick up the accent from the songs
it would not sound right to sing a country with a cockney accent... |
