Hi Mr. Bill,[always loved Mr.Bill[OH NOOO,OH NOOOO]Being an old illiterate country boy sometimes I have trouble interpreting your posts, but it's a lot of fun, kind of like working a foreign language cross word puzzle.Anyway in your thread that wound up talking about capos, you said you wanted to know something about me,that's simple enough Think I can handle that.Who wanted to know why I was'nt busy learning the art of playing the steel guitar.[I LEARNED TO PLAY YEARS AGO].You wanted to know who my favorite steel player was.[ME] You wanted to know who helped me pick my string gauge's[are you insinuating there's more than one ?]You wanted to know what method of tuning I use.[I just twist and turn those little thing-a-ma-jigs that stick up on the left end of my guitar untill it's pleasing to my ear] You asked what kind of cheap bar I use.[Want you to know it came from a 1500.00 dollar set of Sear's sockets, how much did you pay for your's ?]The last thing you wanted to know, who is my favorite band leader,[NONE,THEY ARE ALL SOB'S]Hope this helped Mr. Bill.DYKBC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. Charles,
I wouldn't be too concerned with literacy, above and beyond your tendencies to be assertive, when I come scratchin' your door. Keeping within the bounds of civility, and nonobjectionable language, are first lines of business as usual. Try frowning on those who use bad language in open forums. Give no offerings of approval of what has been said. The same group will lip read every word you say in responding to unsavory language. Most of those who have decided that you can catch more bees with vinegar, rather than honey, in most situations can be avoided. Press on and keep a safe distance from the offensive outbreaks. I have steel bars for all occasions. My most prized bar is wrapped in a soft material, and tucked away safely in a little white box. It has my initials opposite the radius, and it was polished to perfection. It's not an "el-cheapo" bar. As for the "capo", which is nothing more than the equivalent of an unmovable glass slide. I simply have no use for them. The trumped up reasons for their use, detracts from logical considerations. The proper gauges of strings referred to in past articles, may carry through for quite some time. A simple means of explaining the differences, is to look at what some musicians select for acoustic guitar strings. Warping the bodies is quite common, as a result of making poor choices in string gauges. Silly iotas matter in the reduction of hard pulls on the steel guitar.

Please Allow me to intoduce myself.

Hypothetical example of meeting Mr. Bill halfway
Mr. Bill Topic:
Topic: ODOROUS INTRUDERS CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEMISE OF PSG
“While I was diligently practicing my Steel guitar I was interrupted by a member of the Formicidae family related to the Hymenoptera order which evolved from the ancestors of the mid-Cretaceous period between 110 and 130 million years ago and diversified after the rise of flowering plants. “
Reply: Hey Mr. Bill the same thing happened to me. I was practicing my PSG when a PISSANT crawled on me.
Somehow it just doesn’t seem halfway. |

Bo Legg,
I think that man was created to solve the greatest mysteries of all. Does man possess the willpower to devote a lifetime to a single important study? Our location in space is unknown. How should we measure time spans? It's impossible to do so! |

This fits right in with my thinking as of late, Bill.
Whether purpose-created or as we evolve, there is the idea that we are a giant computer, collectively, altho one man can do a lot.
Now if I could apply relativity to pedal steel.... Working at it. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

One must learn to stand up on your own principles and sit down on your own stool.
It gets fun for me anytime our locations in space aren't known. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

We now know (thanks to the big bang) where we are and how we got here.
We Still don't agree on how it will all end.
I've been told all my life if I didn’t change my ways I'd end up in hell for eternity.
Looks like I'll still be around watching the whole thing from there.
Mr. Bill, when I get where bread is always toasted I'll keep you posted. |
