I want to thank all the Membership and Guest that attended the Super MASGA Jam in Mt. City Tn this past weekend. All in attendance had a great time. We had 17 new members join up and we had a great problem to contend with and that we ran out of room to set up guitars. Brian Adams and Mike Sweeney said they are making arrangements to obtain a bigger facility to accomodate all the players next year. The weather was great most of the weekend except for a shower that past through. Bryan Adams, Mike Sweeney, Steve Leonard,& Fred Cox did a outstanding Job of promoting this event and we (The MASGA) personally want to thank them for making it happen. We had vendors present along with members and guest from the states of SC,Nc,Va,MD,Pa,Tn. I can't say enough about the band as Bryan always provides super players to backup all the steel players. We had a super band both days Sat and Sunday.

Thanks to all
Ken Latchum
President MASGA

My wife and I attended both days and had a great time. Thanks to Bryan, Mike and the MASGA, and everyone who had a hand in promoting or playing in this event.

I ditto everything that was said. And IT WAS BOO Miller from the eastern shore of Maryland .Formally with Claude Gray and other entertainers in Nasburge,Vegas,Reno,..and everywhere else..The "Prime Time Pickers"lead my Mystro Mr Mike Sweeny..of General Mike and 1Sgt Teresa Sweeny'e Steel Guitar BOOT CAMP.and Formally of the Nashville Palace",Boo Miller,The alustious, talented, story telling Randy Beavers(formuly of the Lynn Anderson traveling band..and collector of FINE Cigars, The fantastic picker,Emmons & Sho Bud Fixeruper Extrodinair and Grouchyer than I..Mr Bryan Adams, and From my former Air Force assigned home of Warner Robins ,Ga the incredable Mr Clyde Bloodsworth...almost burned down the Mnt City American Legion hall. I mean ..Those Guys smoke...ooopppss..I forgot anothe ledgend ..Garland Nash...Professor of Lab Steel..but Garland ALSO plays a great PSG. But these guys "SMOKED"..Although we 2nd shift pickers ...and I can't remember all the names...Steve Lenord,Ray Walker,Chuck Cambell, Me, Roger Kelly,.and my brain has a short circuit here, did a great job (IMHO)..We were also graced with the attendance and playing of Mr. Fred Layman..Founder of the Lexington ,Kentucky Steel Jam/shows..and PSG Hall Of Fame nominating Commitee Member..and Fownder/owner of Flyn PSG's. Mr ER ChandlerRay Petrea..oranizers and promoters of the Kannapolis Jam were also in attendance..as was PSG picker of Rock Springs,Tn David Martain.....plus some vendors ,pickers, and just plain listeners..that I didn't get thier names..The TWO Bands were great ,the ,food was greaty..but my car problems gave me heart burn..and I had to tear down and leave early!..All in all..with the exception of a "cloud Burst" Sat evening..it was a worth while event..and I'm Lookinf Forward to the next.!!!! also Steve Lenords Daddy..was in attendance..and the girls at the door doing sign in badge and hand stamp duties did a great job.Ken Latchun did his ussual fine job..MCing and keeping things going..as well as his wife..playing an incredable "Fiddle"
That's all for now from Church Hill.Tn

The MASGA is to be commended for their approach to hosting a steel jam. They were very patient with us old folks and let us all play. No one was turned back. It was a real pleasure to visit with so many really nice and courteous people. Mike Sweeney,Bryan Adams, Randy Beavers, and Boo Miller,(the super pickers) were especially nice to us lesser lights. Randy and Boo are really really carrying the tradition forward for the younger generation. Thanks ever so much to all the folks who spent a little time with me. I look forward to the next time!
