I always liked this ol' tune, ever since I heard it on the radio when I was about 13.
I played the Gibson Console Grande T-8 into the Fender Pro.
A6 tuning.
On the backup track I played that old Strat you'll see in the chair, a Taylor 714CE and a Fender P Bass.

Nice one Rick.
That's a Johnny Tillotson tune right? Or did someone else write and record it? Sounds like it could easily be a Lefty Frizzel or Carl Smith tune. _________________ Gerald Ross

Thanks Mike!
James, if you mean the Console Grande there are some great pics of it here.
Gerald, several artists recorded that song - Johnny T was probably one of them.
Bobby Edwards wrote it along with 3 other writers and had a hit with it in 1961.
Johnny Burnette recorded it, as did Joe South and Hank Locklin.
More recently ('99) Hank III had a whiz bang version on his Risin' Outlaw album. |

Nice singin' and playing. Love the tune too. Also I really like the steel guitar patterned wallpaper you have on the wall to your right. |

Good job Rick, and you look so suave while doing it. I always liked the song too, and it always makes me want to play 'Coconut Grove' next. |

Thanks Mikey!
Yeah they don't make that wallpaper anymore - it's vintage.
Thank you Howard - suave is exactly what I was going for (I was hoping for debonaire too).
I know - it's pretty much the same riff isn't it?
You could even do them in a medley . . |

Thanks Doug!
Well it came out in '61, which in terms of pop culture was still the 50s. |
