Hi all. I'm trying to do a quick study on Nightlife (key of D). Pretty much have it but just can't hear the basic changes that are behind the short improv. section (where the vocals go "listen to the blues they are playing.....llsten to what the blues are saying). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Beat Regards

Harvey. Visit gregcutshaw.com . Greg has a great website that icludes Nightlife and many other tabs and valuable information. Greg was kind enough to tab this out for us. His Tab shows the chords and all relevant information, and includes sound files and rhythm tracks to practice his tab to as well. Best of Luck, and any questions, ask Greg. He is most helpful. Thanks. Zeke

Another great source for this song is Herby Wallace. Herby has it all tabbed out in one of his backup courses in the key of D. You get the intro, backup, solo, and ending from one of the best.

Cool

Harvey Richman, Here are the chords you requested for the instrumental refrain on "Night Life." I'm referencing Ray Price's 2/22/63 cut which appeared on the "Night Life" Columbia LP. (1963)

Starting with the words:
"Well, listen to the blues they're playing..."

1 1 1 1
4 1 1 5

or

D D D D7
G D D A7

It's interesting to note it's Pig on piano. Darrell McCall is there on rhythm gtr. and, of course, Grady is there (adjusting the tremelo on Emmons' amp - in real time!) 1963 would indicate a Sho-Bud guitar. Does anyone know which Sho-Bud model was the "Night Life" guitar?
