Here's an absolutely gorgeous Sho-Bud LDG 3 & 4, with standard Emmons setup on the floor pedals and knee levers. New Wallace Truetone Pickup. This guitar is in excellent condition top to bottom. Plays great, sounds great, stays in tune.

This guitar also has been upgraded by Duane Marrs to include new hard aluminum fingers and knee lever brackets. As many will agree, this is a great improvement from the old pot metal parts that were notorious for breaking.

For more details, send email or call
Danny at pedalsteel@peoplepc.com
or 989-539-7808

Price is $2550.00 which includes shipping in the lower 48.

What is the difference between the original LDG pickup and the Truetone? It almost looks like an Emmons PU. How is the overall tone difference?

Jeff. To answer your question regarding the pickup.
Way better sustain, better string seperation, and no single coil hum at high volumes.

Danny,

Thanks for the reply. Does it still have that sweetness in the "tone" with all the mods you mention? I know its a personal thing as we all hear different... but I always wondered why change such a good original tone. IOW: Is the original "tone" the same with the new Truetone?

Jerry Wallace, who makes these pickups, says they will not change the characteristics of the Shobud. They are a quieter pickup, more stability with better separation especially in the "above 12th fret" area. She will maintain the "shobud tone".Danny didn't mention any other modifications to this guitar.

Danny,

I'll be at a festival outside of Lake City on Friday. If the LDG is still around then, I'd like to stop by and play it.

By the way Dan,it really is a great looking Shobud.I'm putting one of the white fretboards on mine. They really stand out.You get some great looking guitars and they never stay around for very long.

Mikey, you must be talking about that Marrs/Fluger Cat Can guitar that some doofuss left behind laying against the wall in St. Louis. Oh well, as the old saying goes, finders keepers. Very Happy
