The original MatchBro or the SuperBro will both work about the same, although in comparing the two my MatchBro seemed a little better than my friends SuperBro (we used my Franklin to compare the two).
There was a MatchBro II and avoid that one as it does not have adjustable controls for the dobro effect.
But, whichever one you use, you have to use the special bar that comes with it and you have to "think dobro" when playing. If you just use it as another effect it will sound like crap. |

i traded my Superbro for a Bo-bro from bobby Seymore..
i like it better then anything i have had! and used it on Holly Dunn's Full circle album, and she fell in love with it.

One of our Florida Steel Guitar Club members has a Bo Bro and he says my (original model) MatchBro is far superior.
I've fooled Bluegrass pickers with it.  Including Bill Box who was the Guitar Picker for Monroe in the 73/74 timeframe. |

I am running a tubefex for effects only, and a walker Stereo Steel (NEW VERSION) Pre-amp.... Thats it!
I have done many artist recordings with this setup, and has never failed me yet... (Thank Goodness)...It has been a great combo for studio and live road jobs, BUT, now that i have my new Webb amp by Tom Bradshaw, The rack maybe a thing of the past. Only time will tell..

Thanks Mike, I use to have a Tubefex and used a Evans pre amp with it for effects and speaker simulation. Worked pretty good, I wished I hadn't sold now. I'm using a Boogie Studio Pre now with a Lexicon MX200 and it works good for me. Thanks again for sharing your equipment.

| Some say the SuperBro sounds better but I usually use the MatchBro because it has a tone control for the regular steel. I can make a quik change to accommodate a tune that requires a slightly different EQ or when I use overdrive. TW |
