If you are half as pleased as I am with mine you will be a very happy man. I have just used my new Webb at a weekend country music festival in the UK. It was astoundingly good. I have been playing pedal steel for nearly 40 years. I have never played through anything that sounds anywhere near as good as this, and believe me I have played through just about everything. Also, the build quality is incredible. Many of the original components have been upgraded to improve the tone.

I think Tom Bradshaw has done a wonderful thing with this amp.

Larry, I want to warn you about your Webb amp settings. It took me at least 6 months to find the setting I like best, That Webb sounds killer at just about any setting I've tried that was listed on the forum. Your gonna be one happy dude fur sure....
Take care

I have mine set as it came, that's with the rear port closed, top two ports closed and the bottom two tubed ports open. I dialled in Tommy White's settings, and with a tiny bit of fine tuning, very quickly had the sound that I wanted. Certainly I can't see that it would need 6 months to get the sound you want. I got it in 6 minutes.

I have some guys coming over on Sunday to have a look and listen, and we will be carrying out A/B tests with other amps. I will also be experimenting more with closing off and opening the ports. A detailed overview on the whole product will be submitted to Tom sometime next week.

For me personally, the new Webb is fabulous. None of the mid range frequency problems that I associate with other solid state amps, where they have to be almost completely dialled out. It has an absolutely awesome bottom end, beautiful clean highs and detailed note separation across the whole of the fretboard and all of the strings.

I actually put a new 4 ohm B/W 1502 in there (I bought the speaker-less option), and the whole package is now quite weighty. However, I will be replacing the magnet with a new Neodymium one, which will reduce the weight considerably. New Neo Black Widow magnets are over $250 in the UK.

I can't sing the praises of the new Webb amp too highly - and the build quality is outstanding on top of the beautiful sound.

Ken & Larry
I need to clarify one thing....about 6 months to find my setting....that was only a figure of speech.
My Webb sounds good at any of those settings that I tried....it's just that you have so many choices to choose from that's all. I want to make it clear I LOVE MY Webb, & with all the different settings to choose from. It's just too hard to choose a favorite., again they all sound very good.
This amp was owned by Larry Bern at one time & he sold it to a forum member that passed away a little over a year ago. The Webb is in amazing condition, & sounds great.

Tommy
Are they JBL's in both amps? Your green one looks like brand new. Really excellent job on that. What tone settings do you use?

Autry
I agree - the EQ options on the Webb are almost infinite. Enough to cater just about for any taste of tone.

Larry
Tom Bradshaw just confirms his reputation when you deal with him. He is absolutely straight down the line, and wants his customers to be happy. I would recommend him as a dealer to anyone.
