Bob does a good job in buildin' steel guitars.Accurate and easy to play from what I hear.
There are several brands of steel guitars on the market and I yet have to find a bad one.

I had a SD10. It was a nice steel with a nice tone. I was a well used model. Bob does a fine job. _________________ ShowPro SD10, Mullens RP, Bose S1 Pro, GK MB200, MB500, Bugera T50 Tube amp with SlidgeRig, TC HOF reverb effect. |

Ron if you find a bad one, don't take bets on how long the company will be on the market. There's way too much competition for a bad steel to survive, Thank goodness. |

Hey chris or is it the ole "Sacramento King" out there.Lucky for you , I can appreciate some good sarcasm, but to let you know Im new to the forum, after I posted that I got up and walked away. I refreshed the page an hour later,33people had viewed the thread, No Response,so I thought Id throw a comment in there to bump it to the top.But you know what "King" , what you say and your opinion doesnt matter after just reading that your new favorite song is one of those "Hot new country Hits" by GRETCHEN WILSON. |

Maybe.
I've spoken with Bob over the phone and he was most helpful. I think I could have gotten the right guitar from him, but I went for an old one. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

I worked on one for a fellow up here last month and I was impressed. It was one of the Econoline models but it played and sounded great. I had to phone Bob with a couple questions about it and he was most helpful. You won't be disappointed. This one played like butter. |

I've had my Simmons Econo for almost a year to the day. Bob was a great guy to deal with. I consider it more than a beginner steel. Don't be surprised if he calls you up and serenades you with your steel or one of his. I wish more Simmons owners would recommend the Econo for beginning steelers. |

Bob has been great to work with. The first time I called him he seemed eager to play one over the phone for me. Played 15-20 minutes ,sounded great, Talked to me for about an hour .Promptly sent pictures and all the information. From what I know Bob has been playin' and building steels for a long time , even worked for shobud in the late 60's early 70's. He played with Wynn Stewart and many other greats. I would highly recommend everyone looking at a Carter Starter or Stage One or any other student/starter model to give Simmons steel guitars a look. I think youll be interested. This steel is a true Emmons setup, which the others are not, wide body with an armpad which you wont find on any other relatively inexpensive steel. You also have a choice of George L pickup ,and a choice of black or white fretboard. Nobody else is offering that for under $1000.Please post some pics of your Simmons. I would love to see them. I'll be sure to get mine up here soon. |

As we say in Alabama, Bob's a "good ol' boy". He'll do you right.
Super nice guy that you'll enjoy dealing with. _________________ Prevent Juvenile delinquecy...teach children to STEEL
