I have (among others) a Panasonic Toughbook CF-45 that needs a new
motherboard/main board. I found one on Impact computers for about $300 but
(1)that is a lot more than I am willing to pay. and (2)we have another
computer (Compaq armada 7710MT) that we bought an auxiliary battery from them and:

what we had/needed:

what we saw:

what we got:

Not exactly what I wanted if you can't tell.

In addition to NewEgg I also shop for parts at Tiger Direct. There are battery dealers that specialize in nothing but batteries, and there is always eBay. There are other dealers specializing in replacement parts for laptops, but, despite the price, you usually are safest going to the manufacturer of the computer.

Hopefully, you can get a refund or an exchange for a properly soldered battery pack. I know that Tiger Direct and NewEgg have generous return terms, if you request an RMA.

Nope, we already tried that, they are liars and thieves.
and nobody would take it after what we did to them. Oh Well we cut open the outer wrapping to try and "mod" it so to speak, and ended up with two even more dysfunctional battery's.
