Who is the Bukaroo's steel player playing the Emmons? Amazing tone and technique for 40 years ago!

Didn't see it but it could Be Jay Dee. He replaced Tom Brumley in about '69 and started making waves in the steel community. This also was around the time he did his killer stuff behind Tony Booth that made the car radio beg for mercy.

I heard from an inside source that a NEW Hee Haw show was being planned. Don't have any more information but this is not re-runs, a totally new show.

The year was 1969

It was JayDee who was playing with the Buckaroos!

I sure did enjoy seeing it on RFD! I got lots of laughs!

Also, Loretta Lynn and a young Charley Pride! I couldnt tell who is steel player was. Smile

Is RFD known by any other name? I have hundreds of worthless channels on this Time Warner Cable, and it doesn't have the RFD, here in Yankee land. But it carries all the spanish, and foriegn language channels, that has nothing to do with this country. I try and call the cable company, and all I get is the run around, and they act like (who are you). They didn't even want to put CMT on our cable till I got a city councilman to fight for it.

Ronnie, I don't believe that you can get RFD-TV via Time Warner Cable. Up in my area here in Western New York State, I know that you can only get RFD-TV if you have DirecTV. It's not available up here via cable or Dish Network. There are supposedly some cable systems that carry it in some places, but as far as I know, not up here in the northeast.

Another plus with DirecTV is that they include XM Radio channels in the package. You'd be able to listen to "Willies Place" if you're partial to the more traditional country music. They also have a couple of other country music channels as well (including a Bluegrass channel).

You guys with RFD make me envious, big time. I have Brighthouse Networks here in Central FL, and no RFD. I was able to submit a request, and everyone should do so. If they get enough, someone might listen, especially if the cable folks think you are going to switch to DirectTV.

Hey Bob,

That was a very young Doug Jernigan with Faron. I've always wondered why George's band wasn't seen on that show, that was George's fiddle player, Charlie Justice with Faron.

I wouldn't swear to it, but I think the drummer was Buck's drummer at the time, Jerry Wiggins. I really wasn't looking that close at the drummer, but the left handed playing sure makes me think it was Jerry.

I was thinking that was Doug with Faron.
Never did see his face but watching his picking hand, that just had to be Doug!
What a picker he is! One of my favorites, for sure.

It looked like he was playing the back neck but it definitely sounded E9?

Did Doug have his necks reversed?
