Topic: pedal rods upside down? |

I purchased my first PSG, a 1973 Marlen D10. My question is, can the pedal rods go on either way. They are not the same on both ends. I put them on and they work, but I guess they could be on upside down?
Another question. The rods mount to the right side of the pedals. Can I switch them over to mount on the left side enabling me to move all the pedals more to the right along the pedal bar?(The bar they mount in.) |

| The plain hook should be at the top, and the "fitting" should hook to the pedal. If your pedals can be slid to the right or left, then it's okay to move them (as long as that doesn't cause the rods to slip off when you're playing). |

| I was wondering if I could take the ball that the rod hooks onto at the pedal and switch it to the other side of the pedal but there is no place to do it. I would have to take the pedals off, drill and tap holes in them and then mount a ball on that side. I don't know if the ball can be unscrewed from the pedals to be replaced so you can take them off. |

Congrats on acquiring such a fine instrument! The Marlen is a very cool guitar, I have had a couple, and regret ever selling mine.
My question would be, what are you trying to gain by moving the pedals over to the right? My thinking, you won't gain very much at all? |

Why don't you just move the pedals to the right? So what if the rods come down on a slight angle. Just adjust the length of them to fit. Try that, and if it works you have not modified anything you can't put back to original. If you need to have the LKL, and LKR knees more left move them and leave the foot pedals where they are. Or if you like the pedals more right, move the whole axels, and cranks to the right. All you will screw up, is having a few empty holes in your under carriage. Everyone has to do what is best for them. I assume you have the "Emmons" set up.
