Hi Reece, I bought this S12 MSA used & sold it to a steel buddy about 20 years ago and I told him I'd ask you about it's story (history if you have it?) The serial number is IC3240 or I suppose the I might be a 1? It's a black single 12, thanks. Uncle Doug[/list]

Sorry I didn't think to get this information out last winter when I went down to Lakeland to take Bobbe's seminar. Due to Duane Marrs passing Joe Wright filled the spot very well! I think Joe is a great teacher & a fine person! (Not only that but he plays a keyless steel!! My kinda guy!!) While I was staying witrh my son, Ken and wife Monica they added me to their family plan Ken has for his business venture....Rodworx.com!
Check him out, no he's not a steel player but he plays guitar & bass! and he's not all bad, right?! My cell # is 716-338-8641 and my e-mail is
doug.seymour@gmail.com Now you guys let the calls & e-mail flood in! Since Bobbe's accident I felt ashamed that I can play and my steel sat in the case, so I'm trying to make up for it and play every day with my BIAB files!! Just changed my LKL from A to Bb, to A to Ab (as per my idol Buddy Emmons!) I have pedal 7 (C6th) on my RKL and adding the Ab to that gives me a lowered 7th & makes it a reguler 9th(?) instead of a major 9th!

Hi Doug....Glad to see you're back playing and enjoying yourself.

Serial number 1C3240 shows to be a black single 12 which left the factory with 10 pedals and 5 knee levers. The original owner was Tommy White. The guitar was born on September 26th 1974.

All the best my friend............

an amazing thing....the present owner of the S12 MSA serial # 1C3240 that was originally purchased by Tommy White.....is Rex White! I sold it to Rex back in the early '80s, I think, after he outgrew the Maverick he bought at the Chautauqua Music store in Warren PA when I was working there part time. He had the Maverick about a month and came back in saying he'd like a pro model. He's just a natural musician & plays just about anything with strings on it! Plays nice guitar, but he says steel is his favorite instrument! His wife is a guitar & 5 string banjo picker and writes songs about as easy as one of us might write a letter! Thanks for the information, Reese! We appreciate it!

Hi Doug, good to see you back in the playing business and doing ok.
Those S12 Lacquer MSA's were great guitars.I had a green one with fuzz tone, bult in, vol and tone controls , and a just a beautiful guitar with great sound. I wish I had it back. I sold it to try a D10 instead. Then sold that to get another MSA S12..

I'll put your new address in my folder, so we can still ommunicate...al.Smile
