I have an Emmons S-10 P/P SN 1308 S that I'm considering selling. I got it in trade so I'm not sure what a decent starting price would be.
It used to be green lacquer but is now natural. I stripped it down and changed the tuning to a "modified D6" so when I had it apart I went ahead and had it refinished. It had already been refinished once but it was in rough shape. There are 6 pedals and 4 knees ( used to be 5 but I still have the parts ). The pickup is a Lawrence 710 ( but I still have the original ). If I would have known then what I know now I would have used "real" lacquer but the guy at the shop talked me into some other crap.
Case is a little beat up but it's the original. If you need more info let me know.
Thanks,
Steve

Gee Steve, I'm sorry to say that that Emmons you have there is hardly worth anything. I believe that it may be sick, and could possibly die if it has to spend another winter in a cold climate...You don't live in a cold climate do you, Steve? I'd be willing to make the sacrifice and give it a nice warm home for the winter...so it won't die and stuff. You should immediately pack it up and send it to me in Florida, for it's own good.
In any event, if you still decide to sell it, best of luck with the sale, it sure looks like a really nice Emmons that will make someone very happy

Damn .. I was hoping to get something out of it. Having you baby sit her might be better than being lonely and neglected in my basement. And what makes you think it get cold up here? |

Steve, anything above Jacksonville, FL is cold to me anymore. I hope that you know that I'm just messin' with you. You did a great job putting that Emmons back into shape. That is one clean looking underside.
Have a great, but cold, Menasha evening. At least you don't have a couple of hurricanes headed your way like we do. A man can shovel snow, but shoveling a hurricane is out of the question.

Oh, yeah .. I was just playing along. I'm originally from Texas and my first couple of winters up here were real miserable. |

1K to 2K ... that's a pretty good spread. When I picked mine up 8 or 10 years ago they were going for 1200 to 1500. I've seen a few here lately for 2300 to 2500 but they're immaculate and look like they're very close to original. My wife thinks I should hold on to it and the the flame will somehow reignite .. we'll see, I guess.
Thanks for the input. |
