One of these recently sold on Ebay for 5700.00. I am wondering if that is a fluke, or whether that value is consistant with the worth. Mine is a 1942 Sunburst (as pictured). I have the original case, but bought this NOS 1970's case to protect it.
I am primarily a Steel player, but play guitar, dobro and banjo also.
I would appreciate input from you experts. I am not looking to sell, but want to insure it. I probably should get a Gruhn appraisal for this and a couple of others.
thanks,
Lefty

Get the Gruhn appraisal. I just sold a late 30s Gibson ES150. Got top dollar for it and the Gruhn appraisal I had done was a big part of being able to sell it for good money.

I'd agree that a professional appraisal from someone like Gruhn Guitars will be your best bet in insuring your guitar for its worth.

And that price doesn't sound too out of line for a 1942 Martin.
