Austin kicked off the SWXS Music Convention last night and the Austin Music Hall hosted the 22nd annual Austin Music Awards. It was your typical gayla event and I'm proud to say that Kevin Fowler and our band came away big winners. See the details here: www.austinchronicle.com/gbase/Awards/MusicAwards?Year=2002
To top the evening off, a "Redneck Reunion" took place on stage. As Herb Steiner mentioned in an earlier post, the "reunion" band consisted of many players of the 70's Austin "Cosmic Cowboy" scene: Rusty Wier, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Steve Frommholtz, Gary P, Nunn, John Inmon, Ray Benson and the "cosmic steel picker" himself Herb Steiner. As always Herb honored the steel guitar community with tasteful and exciting playing. Last night Herb's partner was his beautiful new Fessy. Great tone, Herb!

Congrats Glenn. Looks like y'all got a bunch of 'em. Course I'm still trying to figure out how they have Steel grouped with Flute, Recorder, Harmonica.......
This is a great band folks with a lot of fun tunes.....not to mention great pickin.....Congrats again Glenn.
