Got this steel about a year ago as something to tear apart and play aruond with. Never heard of a Roberts before. I am probabley going to sell, but wanted to find out some history before I do. So anybody out there that has any info, I would be grateful for it. People talk about Bill Lawrence pickups and GeorgeLs. Well just check out the pickup on this baby. Thanks, looking forward to some history on it, Larry

I love it! But I'm sick! Beautiful Rosewood. Too bad the C6th parts are gone. How 'bout some pics of the underside. Rotomatics? They may not be original. Betcha can get that pup rewound and spruced up a bit.

roberts steels were made many years ago somewhere here in northern california. i saw several of them. they were a little clunky looking..this one looks nicer, if it's the same guy.

tiny moore had a 5 string mando (a copy of his famous bigsby) made by roberts. it was really nice..tiny played it regularly. olen dillingham has one also.

WOW!!! I would love to have that...pretty damn slick looking. Any shots of the undercarriage??? Does it have the basic 3X2 E9 setup on + some extra stuff or what???

Casey

Know what you're going through Larry, Information can be frustrating to get hold of. I'm doing a complete rebuild on a so called B.D.Custom. Are those screws that look like extra "dots" on the fret board? Good luck in your project.
