The other day I didn't like what Rush was talking about so I switched to our local country station.
A song was playing (typical modern country) I thought Sugarland had another song out. So I listened until it ended, then the DJ said it was Rascal Flatts. When you think about it Nettles and Lavoe do sing a lot a like. GO FIGURE _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

How about neither? Conservative talk radio is pure garbage and the current top 40 rock, pop, and country music ain't much better . Go figure. |

Ya'll might think about sattellite radio. There are some non-mainstream country channels that play some really good stuff. I'm partial to Willie's place on XM which plays a lot of classic country blended with some of the new real deal artists like Justin Travenio, Jody Nix, Mike Siler, Becky Hobbs etc etc.
And... if you need something to be mad at, you can switch over to talk radio with a mere push of a button. _________________ Ellis Miller

Really. That is one of the reasons why I don't listen to commercial radio any more. On the other hand, commercial radio was never any good, but in recent decades it has gone from bad to worse with more music and programming that appeals to baser human instincts. |

Another reason for carrying CDs or an IPOD with tunes you want to listen to...
But seriously, if you're spending time driving to work, or the gig, and listening to something that riles you up, makes you angry, and feeds into fear or frustration, you might want to think about why you're doing that, and just what possible good it's doing for you.
Just sayin'. |

I like pretty much everything Rush did up to the Farewell To Kings album. In the early days Rush was a good footstompin' hard-drivin' rock 'n' roll band. But around 1977 they moved in a more 'progressive' direction and since then they've mellowed out.
If Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson decided to take up an instrument other than guitar, I think he would have been an organist. On the early albums his chording technique reminds me of massive sounding chords on a Hammond organ. When I was a teenager he was one of my guitar heroes. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Actually, there is a link between Rush Limbaugh and music. He was a disc jockey before he descended into the netherworld of conservative talk radio. |
