I am looking for a PSG instructor in the Richmond, VA area. I know Billy Cooper's is up in Orange, VA but it's a little further than I want to drive. I am an Army musician so I am a serious student. Before anybody asks, No i am not a steel player for the Army, just play in my of off time. Thanks! Very Happy

Juan,
just to get to set across from a legend
such as Buddy Charleton should be worth the drive out to Billy Coopers, Cool Buddy is with out a dought one of the finest and meticulous teachers
in the world.. I studied with him from the age of 10 yrs old
up until i was 20ish and im 42ish now. I guess what im saying is if you can find the time make an effort
to sit with buddy a few times its the Best Pedal steel guitar instruction on the east coast in my honest opinion. and atop all that they are just wonderful people. Buddy ,Kay-lee,Wanda and Billy..
if your serious abot playing steel Buddy will put
you on the right road..

Juan...I am in the Richmond area and would gladly share what knowledge I have at no charge to you. (I am by no means in Mr. Charleton's class, but I am considerably closer.)

I took a couple of hours with Buddy while staying with my sister in Goochland. I64 West then north to Orange... an easy drive. Do it, you won't regret it.

Thanks guys for the advice. I guess what I meant to say was i was looking for weekly or bi-weekly lessons. I wasn't ruling out taking lessons from Buddy. As a matter of fact I am headed up there this weekend. I will say what I love about the steel community is everybody is willing to share what they have. Thanks again! Very Happy
