I really like how he lets Bucky take the entire lead on more or less the whole song! He plays in my opinion fantastic!
Nice big riffs!
I also think that Dylan brings this song home with this performance, after years of being played by everybody, I sings this song so strongly here that he brings back to full glory!
But, I know Dylan is an aquired taste!
I love what he does! |

Bucky's got great touch. I jammed with Bucky about 11 years ago when Dylan came through town. We knocked out a few Dylan numbers at a blues bar (with the drummer from the band as well). Great guy and very talented musician. I ran into him again years later, as he bought a summer place up in my area of the world.
I notice on this video that he's on a Super Pro-era LDG. He used an Emmons PP for much of his time with Dylan, but I don't find his tone much different here than it was on his PP. I guess you search for the sound you're after, no matter what you are using.
Many of us know Bucky from Steve Earle's rebel days, but he did some nice work with Ryan Adams as well. There's a Crossroads episode with Ryan Adams and Elton John where Bucky plays some great live stuff. He's equally good on lap and dobro, as well as conventional guitar. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Bucky also played some great stuff on REM's "World Leader Pretend" off of "Green".
Very tasteful... |
