I have purchased a Nady hum eliminator in hopes of ridding a ground loop hum in one place I play. It has a simple 1/4" in and out loop. I go from my steel to a Hilton Pedal then on to a case and through a korg tuner and profex II then on to my amp.
Would the place for this be coming out of the case and before going to the amp ? Thanks, Bill.

It should be where the hum is being generated and put it between that unit and the rest. e.g. if you have two devices in line and device 1 is generating or causing the hum, you want it between device 1 and device 2. If you put it after device 2 the hum can affect the sound generated by device 2 (you want a clean signal going into device 2 in this case).

Most suppliers and manufactors recomend placeing it behind the last unit before the amp. This puts it after all the transformers and possible hum causing devices.

-- Laughing Ray, the only "hum" problem I have is "post ham and beans" and even that isn't what it used to be - Sad Father time is so cruel to us old ducks.
Last night at Country Your Way I hooked my stuff up as usual and flipped it all on and there it was, as usual--an annoying loud hum-- I hooked up my new Nady hum eliminator to the line coming out of my case to the amp and WOW---dead silence and a good, clean sound all night !! Whoever said you can't teach "old dogs" new tricks needs to edit their comment -- Cool
Thanks again guys for the info and help---yes even you too Ray-- Exclamation
