I'm looking for a fiddle that has a real good country tone without having the big bucks price, But I also want a quality fiddle...NO TOYS PLEASE...I know this sounds cheap but I can't spend alot on a fiddle...I have only so much to spend so if someone has one that they just aren't using and want to get rid of it then let me know...I cannont afford HIGH DOLLAR INSTRUMENTS...not that i would not love one but this is the situation....I would like to progress in fiddle as I have always had a love for the fiddle but cannot afford to go to the best there is...any help with this will be greatly appreceated...Thank you very much ....Jeff

Try Elderly Instruments vintage/used list. Look for one in the $500 - $700 range. A Glasser bow is good and you can usually get one cheaper than the good wood ones.

Thanx,
Jim

Jim,

Did you ever find yourself a fiddle? I have a couple of decent older violins that I would take $200.00 a piece. They are good sounding violins, the cases aren't much, but I would kick in an extra bow with either of them if you decided to take one.

Take a look at www.sagamusic.com. If you find anything you like there, I'll give you a good discount. I'm a dealer for them. That goes for any of you fellow steel players. I'll give you double-digit discount off the retail price. Just ask me how much. I don't think b0b will let me post the actual discount here.
