At the ISGC, Lloyd Green mentioned that there would be some "really big" news coming out of Nashville in the very near future. Does anyone know if this news has been released yet and, if so, what it is? Perhaps it's been discussed here but I didn't recognize it as being what he was referring to? |

Hey Ron Whitting, about your radio show. Where is it? I would love to hear a show these days that features some steel guitar. Thanks!

I think they shoud take the rock junk and take it back to New York or bury it some where. It does not belong in country music and the sooner they figure this out the better off they will be.I was listening to the country station here in Raleigh N.C. the other day and all I heard was that Rap music with some Woman trying to sound like country.I can't stand this screeching that some of them call singing.Country is Merle Haggard Allen Jackson Jack Green Jeannie Sealey Kitty wells Pam Tillis and Mel Tillis Willie Nelson All the good old singers. These new people are distroying country music and I guess they might be waking up to it now.Lets hope so anyway.GOD BLESS AMERICA and COUNTRY TRIDITIONAL Music.Maybe I did not spell it right so I'll Join Bobbe on learning how to spell. If it sounds country play it and don't stop playing it.

I talked with Ll0yd Green and the record producer and Lloyd was trying to get him to produce another album.I bragged about the two albums that are the best,to the record producer.Feelings and Shades of Steel, which show the best of Lloyd's sound and style.
If you have never heard these albums you have missed the best, that ever came out of Nashville. The vocals and strings added a big plus to the production.Lloyd was at his best.

I prefer my Lloyd with no strings attached.
The top two? ATM (according to me), Ten Shades of Green and Lloyd's of Nashville. |

Jim, I know the "big news" that Lloyd is referring to. It's Huge! It's something that will Excite the the steel guitar community like nothing has in years. But I've been sworn to secrecy! Really, I'm not joking. There are only 3 or 4 people who know about it at this time. I can say no more... but hold on to your hats steel guitarists! Please, no emails or phone calls, my lips are sealed!

Lloyd asked if I would post this reply for him:
quote: Hey.
Will you post this for me?
"Actually, the biggest news out of Nashville is that Mike Weirauch is gonna play at the NTSGA jam in April. He's really going to do it! I'm determined to go listen.........providing they have enough Coors to get me through the evening. Also, Smiley Roberts is going to renew his membership with the Musician's Union."

Yer gonna need a WHOLE LOTTA Coors to put up with Mike Weirauch's playin'! Maybe, even,a couple'a shots of Jack Daniels,to go w/ it.
As far as me re-joinin' the union, maybe you could sell me your card, for half-price,hmmmm.

Remember Smiley, you're playing on the same set also! Word around Nashville is that you were asked to take the position of liaison to the President. Have you accepted that position yet and did you have to promise a kickback in order to get it? |

Actually I have the correct info on what Loydd was trying to convey. It is big news too, so big that NBC CBS and ABC will dispatch crews to the scene. The announcement will come from the stage of the next NTSGA Jam in April. One clue is that Nashville will soon make more country recordings than Pittsburgh PA and Salt Lake City combined. That goal can be achieved by releasing just one and passed with two releases. The Big problem as I see it is finding availible singers in Nashville who actually can sing Country Music.Seems like they all live in Hendersonburg. (or Florida)
