Mr. Webb told me tonight he is really looking forward to attending the Texas Steel Guitar Convention in March. He will have a booth between the great steel players Hal Rugg and Herb Steiner booth's. The legendary Webb Amps will be available for everyone to try one.

By The Time I get to Phoenix (the song) written by Jim Webb.

Different fella....this Jimmie Webb has always operated Webb Music in Antioch, Calif. As kids we'd drive over from Stockton and just salivate all over ourselves at the awesome display of guitars. As I recall, I bought my daughters Rhodes from Jimmy. I have to admit, when he told me he was going to start building steel guitar amps, I thought he was biting off more than he could chew, so to speak.....one of the many times I've been wrong in my life. I've eaten so much crow in my life, I'm considering doing a book entitled "25 delicious ways to prepare crow". On the serious side, I have great admiration for a little guy who'll take on the big boys and kick their corporate butts so decisively. Thank you Jimmie.

I met Mr. Webb last spring on a road trip through California. He was building my amp at the time. I don't think his shop was open that day, but he let me inside to poke around a bit anyway. It sure was a pleasant visit with Mr. Webb. I got my amp a few weeks later and love it.

Glad to see that Webb Amps will be at the TSGA. Greatest amps for steel IMHO. I'll be playing mine with Country Classics on Friday evening at the TSGA.

No unfortunately I’m not the songwriter Jim Webb. Shucks I can’t get away with it now as Larry King then of Stockton, CA 40 miles away was coming to my music store, Antioch, CA in those good old days. Larry King answered to Autry Andress that I was not the same fellow as songwriter Jim Webb Thanks Larry.

Nice surprise to hear that about people in other states has been in Webbs Music center, Antioch, CA. You probably didn’t realize it then at your age but Webb’s was believed to be one of the 3rd best-equipped stores in California, LA.

I'll be picking Mr Jimmie Webb and Christina up at the airport Thursday for the Texas Steel Guitar Convention and he is looking forward to seeing many of his longtime friends and to meeting may new ones.

I've had a Webb since '79 and love their clear full tone. Webb Amps will have their booth next to the great steel players Hal Rugg and Herb Steiner booths. If anyone wants to use one on the show or to try one, come on by the booth!!
