Hello Forum steel pickers. I need some help with the cord progression for steelin the blues. I learned it from listening to a Jimmy Day CD but not sure of the cords. Any help on cord progession would be appreciated.

The chords that I use are as follows after the intro,Db, Gb9, Db, Ab, Db...two verses in that order and then the course, F, Bb, Eb, Ab...then back to Db, Gb9, Db, Ab, Db. I fixed this chord pattern using Band In A Box. Its in the key of C#.

Thanks John for your help on this tune.Thats works for me.The part that was unclear to me is at the end of the verses. sounds like Day is putting in an addictional cord like an E flat.your progression seems to work fine.thanks again for your help.

Jerry:

Jeff Newman put together a woodshed workshop on "Steelin' the Blues" and it is excellent. This version is an E9th version with a C6th sound and he actually talks you through the entire song. You get Jeff playing it through, talking you through it, complete tab, and the entire rhythm track for you to play with. I believe there is 3 verses and each one played a little different. This one would make the band and audience take notice when learned correctly. All of Jeff's courses are top notch and extremely professional.

Cool
