Tonight I will visit Buritto Deluxe in Geldermalsen, The Netherlands. Sneaky Pete Kleinow is the main man in the band. I'm looking forward hearing and seeing him again! JJ

Burrito Deluxe has a new album coming out on Feb 25, the only show listed in the US so far is at the Continental Club in Austin March 15 during SXSW.
Other members besides Pete are Garth Hudson, Carlton Moody, Tommy Spurlock, and Willie Watson.
Check out sound clips and other info @ http://www.burritodeluxe.com/mainy/mainette.html

Hey Johan, How was the show?, I listened to songs clips on their website and they sounded great. What did Pete have to say?

Well, I'm not Johan, but I saw them at Euro Disney last week. It was a good show, but not *great*.... Willie Watson, who I believe is the singer on the album, wasn't there. Singers were Tommy Spurlock and Carlton Moody. Bass was Matt Spurlock, who I assume is Tommy Spurlock's son (it was his 17th birthday). Drummer was an ex-Poco drummer whose name has slipped my mind at the moment ... They did about 3 Burritos songs, a couple of Band songs, quite a few country standards (Truck Driving Man, Mama Tried, etc) and some rock standards (Mystery Train, Whole Lotta Shakin'...). I think at least some of them had only got in from NY that morning, so they seemed a little jet -lagged. Sneaky Pete was great, but seemed to be holding back a little - only cut loose a couple of times. Garth Hudson should be a major star! The guy has charisma, and is a *phenomenal* musician! He even opened his eyes a couple of times
I'm glad I went, but I'd like to have seen Sneaky Pete in a setting/circumstances where he could have opened up a bit more.
Nick
(and now over to Johan... I hope ) |

Wish I was north for that show. Sneaky, Yes!
But you say only ONE legend on stage....
Garth Hudson is sure a legend for me. |
